Before I went on holiday I decided to test my strength (after I've gone through eight of my leg bursting sessions).
Here's a quick reminder what plan I follow: Leg day(s)
I have to say, I am happy with the results:
- Back Squat @100kg 5 sets of 5 reps with 2 minutes rest between sets (I wouldn't say it was easy but it felt easier then 90kg 5x5 earlier)
- Romanian Deadlift - @100kg 3 sets of 5 reps with 2 minutes rest between sets, then my grip was giving up on me (I need to work on my grip strength to be able to perform 5 sets of this exercise)
The improvements are not just that I can lift more, but my legs look stronger, more muscular. Also, I toughened mentally too. It is pretty challenging to keep squatting while your brain wants you to stop.
I heard that the brain gives up when we reach only 40% of our maximum capacity. So there are plenty more percentage, strength and power to utilize, just need to train yourself not to listen to your brain and keep pushing.
At the moment I only have 4 sessions left from the 8 week program. I cannot wait to see how much I will improve by the end of it.
